Once they reach adulthood Stick Insects lay eggs all year round. They are small (around 2mm), round and smooth.
Stick Insect Eggs and should be stored in small jars or plastic containers with a mesh lid. Then place the eggs on a base of sand/pete and keep in a warm, light place that isn't too dry and not in direct sunlight.
Spray with clean water to keep the base damp (but not wet). If they are allowed to get over dry on a regular basis then the egg case will toughen and the insects will have difficulties hatching - the warmer it is - the more you should spray with water. The eggs take between 9 and 12 months to hatch. |
